New Shoes Can Make A Big Difference
The back to school season can be a difficult one for many families. The added cost of school supplies, clothing, medical expenses, and extracurricular activities can be burdensome, especially when your budget is already tight. This summer, we invited the community to join us in helping kids start the school year off strong through our Back to School Shoe Drive.
Shoes that fit and are in good condition are an important part of every back to school shopping list, but not every family in our community can afford them. New shoes give kids confidence and enable them to fully participate in academics, sports, and play. Thanks to the support of donors, volunteers, and community partners we will be able to provide new shoes to more than 1,200 students in 10 of our partnering schools!
All of the shoes we have received will be distributed to families who are actively involved in our programs (like our after school clubs or the food pantry), or delivered to our partnering schools in Klein ISD and Aldine ISD. The dedicated counselors and staff at those schools will determine how to distribute the shoes to the students who need them most.
